Frequently asked questions.
Residential Oversight Services
What exactly does Citadel Residential Risk Group do?
We provide discreet, professional oversight of high-value homes while the owner is away. Our services include scheduled interior and/or exterior property walkthroughs, damage checks, package removal, photo documentation, and emergency response protocols when necessary.
Are you a security company?
No. We are not a security or alarm monitoring company. We do not carry weapons or confront intruders. If we discover signs of forced entry, tampering, or danger, we immediately stop, document the scene, and call 911.
How do you access the home?
Interior access is provided through a client-approved method—typically a lockbox or smart lock. We do not hold physical keys and never ask clients to leave doors unlocked.
What do you check during a visit?
We inspect all accessible areas based on your service package. This includes doors, windows, HVAC systems, lighting, plumbing, and visible signs of water damage, intrusion, or environmental issues. Exterior checks include perimeter sweeps, storm debris, package collection, and more.
Can I request emergency visits?
Yes. We offer Emergency Follow-Up Visits after alarm activations, suspicious camera alerts, or police responses where no interior check was made. These are observational visits with full photo documentation and same-day communication.
What areas do you serve?
We serve Southeastern Pennsylvania, including Berwyn, Malvern, Devon, Newtown Square, and nearby luxury communities.
Are your staff vetted?
Yes. Citadel is founded and operated by first responders. Any team members or contractors are thoroughly vetted and trained to uphold our standards of discretion and professionalism.
How do I schedule a visit?
Use our Client Request Form to request a consultation and we’ll follow up to confirm details, provide pricing, and set up your first walkthrough.
Is there a contract?
We require a signed service agreement for access and liability purposes. However, there are no long-term commitments—you can pause or cancel service at any time.
Citadel’s Risk Consultations & Audits
What is the Citadel Blackline Consultation?
The Blackline Consultation is our signature full-service property risk assessment. It includes a comprehensive evaluation of your home’s security posture — covering exterior access, lighting, entry points, surveillance technology, and more — all through the lens of first responder experience. You’ll receive a detailed, custom report with strategic recommendations.
What’s the difference between Blackline and the individual audits?
The Blackline consult is a full overview of the home, ideal as a starting point. The audits are specialized deep dives into very specific risk categories:
Pre-Construction Risk Consultation – focuses on homes being built, renovated, or expanded
Exterior Nighttime Visibility Audit – assesses how secure and visible your property is after dark
Perimeter Intrusion Risk Assessment – identifies weak points along fences, gates, wooded areas, and secondary access routes
Clients often start with Blackline and add one or more audits for expanded coverage.
Can I book just an audit without doing the full Blackline consult?
Yes. Each service can be booked individually based on your needs — or combined for bundled savings.
Who are these services for?
These services are ideal for luxury homeowners, second-home owners, estate managers, and anyone responsible for protecting a high-value property. We serve primary residences, vacation homes, and properties that are under construction or frequently unoccupied.
Do you install alarms, lighting, or cameras?
No — we are not an installation company. We provide strategic security guidance, identify vulnerabilities, and offer recommendations for equipment and placement. We’re also happy to refer you to trusted vendors.
How are the services conducted?
Each consultation or audit is performed in person by a trained Citadel representative with law enforcement or security experience. We arrive discreetly, perform the assessment professionally, and deliver a clean, confidential report with findings and recommendations.
Do I need to be present during the visit?
For most assessments, no. Many of our clients prefer that we conduct the audit while they are away, particularly for second homes or vacation properties. If your property is currently under construction, we may request access coordination through you or your site manager.
Do you work with my builder or contractor during a Pre-Construction Consult?
Only if authorized by the homeowner. All communication runs through the client unless permission is given to coordinate directly with your general contractor or project lead.
Is this like a home inspection?
Not at all. Home inspectors assess structural and mechanical issues. Citadel assessments focus exclusively on security, privacy, and risk exposure — from a protective services and crime-prevention standpoint.
What do I receive after the consult?
Each service includes a formal written report summarizing findings, photo documentation (if applicable), and custom recommendations. This report is confidential and created specifically for your property.
How do I get started?
You can schedule your service directly at citadelresidential.org or contact us at citadelriskmanagement@gmail.com / 610-509-9670. We’ll walk you through a short intake process and get your consultation on the calendar.
